Important Changes

  • NEW Student Schedule Tab in Counseling Module (SIS-102828) [Enhancement]

    A new Student Schedule tab is now available in the Student Information Counseling toolset. This new Schedule has an updated look and enhanced functionality. The Schedule tab now includes a Calendar view and a Term view.

    • In the Calendar view, the student’s courses display in a Day, Week or Agenda layout, and lets you keep track of the current time to easily locate the student as quickly as possible.
    • In the Term view, the student’s courses display for the selected term and period schedule, and can be filtered to show all terms, all period schedules or just the current term and current period schedule, or any combination of the terms and period schedules.

    Other highlights of the new Schedule tab include:

    • Keyboard shortcuts that allow navigation within the Calendar view.
    • Visuals to more clearly determine where a student is at the current time.
    • Easier indication of when a student does not have a schedule course.
    • Updated calendar navigation to choose a different date and see the courses the student has for that day.
    • Updated display for Reports and Course Details.
    • Ability to submit Feedback through the Campus Community Forums.
    Users who have existing tool rights to the Schedule tab in Student Information > General have tool rights to the new Schedule tab. For other users, tool rights need to be turned on for them. Note that there is a new sub-tool right for the ability to to view student attendance that does need to be assigned for those who should see student attendance information on the schedule.See the article below for detailed information.

Other Changes

  • Ad hoc - Available GPA Fields (SIS-109545) [Enhancement]

    The following GPA fields have been added to the Student > Learner Portfolio folder when creating Student Data Type queries in the Filter Designer:

    • GPA - gpa.cumGPAbasicBonus, gpa.cumGPAunweightedBonus
    • Class Rank with Cum GPA - cumGPA.cumGPABonus
    • Class Rank with Unweighted Cum GPA - unweightedGPA.cumGPAunweightedBonus
    • Class Rank with Custom Cum GPA - customGPA.cumGPAbonus

  • Health Office Visits Comments Fields Added (SIS-109273) [Enhancement]

    Observation and Intervention Comments fields have been added on the Health Office Visits tab. Also, the comments field associated with the Discharge(s) was not labeled; this has been fixed.

  • Student Search - Red or Black Text Display (SIS-107192)

    When searching for students in the current calendar with a future end date, students displayed in red text (indicating they are no longer actively enrolled) instead of black text (indicating they are actively enrolled). This has been corrected.

  • Scheduling Request Detail Report (SIS-110845) [Enhancement]

    Several updates have been made to the Request Detail Report:

    • A Submit to Batch option has been added, allowing generation of the report to be done through Batch Queue functionality. (110845)
    • An option to choose which course request types has been added. This option, called Request Type lets users choose to include required, elective, alternate, or any combination of request types. Previously, only Required and Elective course requests were included in the report. (111351)
    • An option to only view courses that are marked as active has been added, called Display Only Active Courses. When not marked, inactive courses display in red text and are sorted at the bottom of the list. When both active and inactive courses are selected for inclusion on the report, inactive courses print in red text with an asterisk in front of the course number. (111323)
    • An option to select an Ad hoc filter has been added. This narrows the list of students included in the report. (111832)
    • An option to print the report without the blank page between department has been added, called Prepare report for duplex printing. When not marked, the blank page does not print and departments print without a page break; when marked, the blank page prints. Print options still need to be set to print on both sides. (112007)
    • The report can now be generated in CSV format, as well as in PDF format. (111314)
    • Longer student names now wrap on the report. (114158)

New York State Data Warehouse

  • SSEC Summary Extract (SIS-108705)

    The SSEC Summary Extract is now available. The SSEC Summary Extract reports and compiles data regarding violent or disruptive incidents, as well as incidents of discrimination, harassment, bullying, and cyberbullying to comply with New York State reporting requirements and to designate schools that are persistently dangerous.

  • SIRS Student Daily Attendance (SIS-114696)

    The following changes were made to the Student Daily Attendance reporting logic:

    • Only one Suspension Code reports per day

      • OSS trumps ISS

    • Only one Attendance Code reports per day

      • Full day Absent/Excused trumps full day Absent/Unexcused, Full day Absent/Unexcused trumps full day Absent/Unknown, and full day Absent/Unknown trumps Tardy
      • If multiple local codes map to the same Status/Excuse, the first qualifying code reports
      • Tardy will report if it falls in the first period or if all preceding periods are absent

  • SIRS Assessment Fact Update (SIS-114808)

    Reporting logic for the Assessment Fact extract was updated to exclude Enrollments when the Start Status is 0055.
