Protecting Student Privacy
Protecting Student Information
New York State Department of Education Education Law 2-d requires districts to protect students' personally identifiable information (PII). Other federal laws require us to protect student data as well. AccelerateU staff continually monitors it practices to improve data protection. Please contact Mike Morone if you have concerns.
Some of our courses use websites that may collect minimal amounts of PII. Below are such sites and platforms used by AccelerateU and vetted by our Coordinator of Data Governance, Wendy Villone, for compliance to Ed Law 2d.
- Genius SIS, our Student Information System
- Buzz, our Learning Management System
- FEV Tutor, providing on-demand tutoring
- Castle Learning, Regents Preparation
- iMACS, Math and Computer Science
- Explore Learning, Virtual Science Labs
