I am a National Board Certified Teacher and taught middle and high school English in the Palmyra-Macedon Central School District for 16 years. I currently serve as an administrator at Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES in the Coordinator of Employee Engagement role of the Human Resources Department. I genuinely appreciate the opportunity to teach AccelerateU students and continue growing as a learner myself. Traveling has always been important to me; I have taught English in China, visited Egypt, England, France, Spain, Italy and many states in the continental U.S. In my free time I enjoy writing poetry, trying new restaurants, shopping, and doing crafts with my children. My favorite part about teaching online courses is being able to meet and work with so many interesting students from around New York State.

I live in the town of York with my wife and have two children. My hobbies include tennis, swimming, and spending time with my family.
My educational background includes receiving an AAS in Business Administration from Genesee Community College, NY; a BS in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport, NY; and an MLS in Health (virtual) from Fort Hays University, KS. I currently hold NYS certifications in Physical Education, Health and Business.
I have been teaching for 20 years, including 13 years online with AccelerateU. Various subjects I have taught include PE, Health, Nutrition & Wellness, Exercise Science and Fitness classes. My philosophy is that education is the key.
I have taught math at the high school level for 13 years, teaching pre-algebra, algebra, geometry and precalculus. Before entering education I worked as a mechanical / electrical engineer for Xerox and Pactiv, having degrees in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. Outside of the classroom you will find me at cross country meets, track meets, and diving competitions cheering on my high school aged daughter and son. In my spare time I'm home in the garden, chasing chickens, or working my beehives.
I've taught online for six years. With online students, I always stress the importance of maintaining a steady pace throughout their courses, while asking lots of questions.
2017-2018 is my 29th year in Education! I started my career as a high school Chemistry and Biology teacher in Canandaigua, N.Y. I taught at the high school level for 12 years and then went on to be the Elementary School Science and Health Coordinator for grades PK-6 for five years. During that time, I earned my administrative degree and took a position as the Primary School Assistant Principal in Canandaigua for six years. I thought about how much I was missing teaching, so I returned to the classroom - teaching students who want to be teachers. I have taught Elmira College, SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Brockport. I am now an Educational Consultant. I also teach online for WFL BOCES (AP Psychology/Science courses) and really enjoy my work with students from all over New York State!
I am currently an Art Teacher at Churchville Chili Senior High. I began my career teaching Graphic Design and Video Production at at Monroe 2 Boces. Prior to teaching I was a Graphic Designer.
I received my Bachelors in Art from Houghton College with a concentration in drawing and graphic design. Teaching was always a passion of mine and later received my Masters in Art Education from Nazareth College.
In my spare time I often paint on canvas in oil color, throw pottery on the wheel, draw, fly fish, and golf.
American Sign Language, World Languages
I teach American Sign Language and Spanish in Marion. I have been teaching for 19 years to students who are just starting to learn language all the way through the college level. I have traveled to Spain several times and love to attend Deaf theater events at the National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester. In my free time, I enjoy dancing, walking trails with my husband and son, and spending quality couch time with my dog and two cats.
I have been teaching Social Studies at Sodus High School for over 30 years. During summers (and after school), I am a drivers education instructor. I live in Walworth with my husband and daughter.
I have been teaching French and Spanish in the Penn Yan School District for 25 years and online, as an instructor for AccelerateU for two years. I studied both French and music performance at SUNY Geneseo before getting my Master's Degree at Nazareth College.
I live in Penn Yan with my husband, two daughters, and two cats. When I am not teaching, I am busy with my home cupcake catering business. I also love to garden, read, and shop.
In my world language classes, please remember that learning a new language can be an endless adventure. As long as you are making progress along the way, you are on track to being successful.
I have been a technology teacher at the high school level for 13 years. I have taught a variety of courses but the most consistent have been Principles of Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Engineering Design and Development, and World of Technology. I received my Bachelors degree in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego and my Masters degree in Technology Education from Valley City State University.
Hi. I am, of course, Mr. Hollembaek. Spelling my name will not be graded, but to save time if you would like, Mr. H will do just fine. I have been teaching for over 18 years in three different school districts in and around the city of Rochester.
The past 14 years I have been in Williamson High School teaching US History, HIS 110 & 111, PSY 100, and SOC 100. The college course are quite similar to the AP. Online I teach a wide variety of Social Science courses - PIG, Global 9 & 10, Sociology, trying to do my part to assist students in preparing for the next stage in life.
I have a son and a daughter to do PSY and SOC research on, observational with minimal changes to the variable to assure accurate data collection. Teaching online for almost 10 years means I truly look forward to this experience, it is great to see success coming in a non-traditional way. Try not to freak out, we will all be learning through this - so relax.
I graduated from Keuka College with a BA in Biology and Nazareth College with an MS in Education. Before teaching, I worked in Plant Pathology and Entomology at the NYS Agricultural Experiment Station. My twelve year teaching career includes teaching middle school science, Biology, and Chemistry. I enjoy running and being there for my son with his sports, volleyball and tennis.
I teach business and computer subjects at North Rose-Wolcott High School. I live in Rochester with my husband, two children, and two dogs! We love to go camping and fishing. While at home, I love to scrapbook and do jigsaw puzzles. I enjoy cheering on the Chicago Bears and Boston Bruins. I have an extensive collection of Mickey Mouse items and love all things Disney!
Health & Physical Education
I have had a lot of experience teaching the topics contained in Health Education and Life Skills courses. I have taught middle and high school Health Education as well as middle school Family and Consumer Science. My full-time job is teaching Professions in Education and Human Services to juniors and seniors at a Career and Technical school. My hope is that you enjoy this AccelerateU course and that it has a positive impact on your self-awareness and in making choices that can impact you both in the short term and in the long term.
