My favorite part about teaching online courses is being able to meet and work with so many interesting students from around New York State.

Outside of the classroom you will find me at cross country meets, track meets, and diving competitions cheering on my high school aged daughter and son. In my spare time I'm home in the garden, chasing chickens, or working my beehives.

2017-2018 is my 29th year in Education! I started my career as a high school Chemistry and Biology teacher in Canandaigua, N.Y. I taught at the high school level for 12 years and then went on to be the Elementary School Science and Health Coordinator for grades PK-6 for five years. During that time, I earned my administrative degree and took a position as the Primary School Assistant Principal in Canandaigua for six years. I thought about how much I was missing teaching, so I returned to the classroom - teaching students who want to be teachers. I have taught Elmira College, SUNY Potsdam and SUNY Brockport. I am now an Educational Consultant. I also teach online for WFL BOCES (AP Psychology/Science courses) and really enjoy my work with students from all over New York State!

I have a son and a daughter to do PSY and SOC research on, observational with minimal changes to the variable to assure accurate data collection. Teaching online for almost 10 years means I truly look forward to this experience, it is great to see success coming in a non-traditional way. Try not to freak out, we will all be learning through this - so relax.

Being the best at what I do has always been my goal in teaching. I strive to show my students that even though they may not have been successful in math before, it can happen. I am currently teaching ninth graders in the Rochester City School District and have been an online instructor since 2006. I enjoy working with and getting to know students throughout New York. I am also a TV host on Homework Hotline on WXXI, so my instruction has expanded into other states. It is rewarding to know that I am truly helping others. I love all of my jobs and hope to inspire my students to become teachers, too!

Hola a todos! I am Dr. Cheryl Tisa and I am proud to be your online instructor! I have been teaching Spanish with the Greece Central School District since 1998 and had taught 3 years part-time at a Catholic school prior to that. I have been teaching at Greece Olympia High School (Go Spartans!) since 1999.
I love being a student myself and hold four degrees. I own a part-time sports business giving opportunities for students in pro sports. I am a contract Group Leader with the Cleveland Cavaliers and have been working with them since 2002. Everyone asks, so I will answer the question now: No, I have never met LeBron, but have met many other players in the NBA...and YES, they have all studied Spanish in high school. I work part-time as a hotle security guard on weekends (I am writing a book about my escapades...some of which involve Snoop Dog, Little Wayne, Maroon 5...). This part-time job grew on me and I turned my safety and security training and expertise into a large-scale study for my doctorate regarding safety and security.
I am happily married to Joe, a Kodak employee, who also works two extra jobs; he is a part-time security guard in the Rochester City School District and also works as a hotel security guard on weekends. We have four sons, two of whom are Social Studies teachers who are married to teachers (one was my former student teacher). Our third son is a trucker and is out and about three days a week delivering in the City (not Rochester...but NYC, a real challenge!). Our youngest is a personal trainer and is comtemplating a Masters Degree in Education to teach Business. And...yes, we ALL work in security. I have my own "Dawg" family right here in Greece, New York (think Bounty Hunter).
Remember: when you are in my class you are on Tisa Time! I have high expectations and know that all of you will succeed. We will work together, work with one another, and work with the material and my resources to have you complete the course!
